General Rules & Regulations:

1.                 All drivers and pit crewmembers must be 16 years of age or older and must have a valid driver’s license.  No one under 14 will be allowed in the pits—NO EXCEPTIONS!!!  Anyone under 18 years of age must have a signed parental consent form provided by the fair board.

2.                 All drivers and pit crewmembers must sign the Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement furnished by the fair board.

3.                 Driver entry fee is $25 (includes car, driver, and one pit crew member).  Additional pit passes are $10 per person.

4.                 Driver must furnish his/her own car.

5.                 All drivers (drivers only) must attend pit meeting prior to show time.

6.                 Absolutely no riders in demolition cars.

7.                 Long sleeved shirts and neck braces are recommended but not required.

8.                 Safety belts and DOT approved helmets are required during the event.

9.                 American cars only (NO IMPERIALS ALLOWED).  No jeeps, trucks, carryalls, or commercial vehicles allowed (i.e. checkers, vans, ambulances, hearses, etc.).

10.              Number must be painted on both sides and top of car.

11.              All glass and chrome must be removed BEFORE reaching the fairgrounds.  This includes headlights and tail lights.  All glass must be removed cleanly, not just knocked out.  Trunks and interior must be empty of all debris, spare tires, rims, part, etc.  Tail lights and gas gauge wires must be cut or disconnected.

12.              Gas tanks must be removed from stock position and relocated in back seat area and properly secured and covered.  No extra gas cans permitted in car.  Batteries must be removed from stock position and relocated to passenger area and properly secured and covered.  No bungee cords.

13.              All doors, hood, wagon gates, and trunk lids must be fastened shut each with a maximum of 4 bolts or chains, not closer than 12 inches apart.  Maximum fastener size is 4” by 5/8”.  All chains, wires, fasteners, etc. must pass through sheet metal only.

14.              Any car not participating in the action, not moving, or stalled for 1 minute will be disqualified.  Cars that are hung together must make contact with other live cars within 1 minute or be disqualified.

15.              Car must have a minimum 15” fire protection hole in hood.

16.              15” maximum-6 ply car tires only, filled only with air.

17.              A bar may be added behind the driver’s seat (no higher than a stock bench seat) and on driver’s door for safety.

18.              No intentional head-on or driver door shots allowed—this will be strictly enforced.

19.              No person under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances will be permitted to participate in show or enter show area.

20.              The officials, if deemed necessary, will handle any situation not covered in these rules.  Judges decisions are final.

21.              All cars are subject to inspections before, during, and after the demo.  Inspections may be extensive if deemed necessary by the officials (i.e. cutting frames, tires, etc. after the demo).  A car will not be permitted to run if the rules are violated.

22.              Motor, drive train, and suspension must remain same make (i.e. GM on GM body, Ford on Ford body).  Suspension must remain stock.  Motor mounts may be welded in.

23.              Radiator may be removed but not relocated.

24.              No special bumper, extra weights, trailer hitches, coil over shocks, air shocks, lifts, blocked shocks or other reinforcement will be allowed.  Bumpers and fenders may be trimmed.

25.              Stock rear ends only (no truck rear ends, etc.).

 

Non-welded Class Extended Rules:

1.            Front shocks can be welded, but no extra bracing on the bumper or on the shocks

2.            No wire for extra bracing.

3.            Doors can be chained or wired shut—absolutely no welding except for the driver’s door.

4.            No extra welding or wire for extra support will be allowed.

5.            No bolts around rear fender well.

6.            Bumper can be bolted on only and must be removable (or will not pass inspection).

 

Front Wheel Drive Class Extended Rules:

1.            Front shocks can be welded, but no extra bracing on the bumper or on the shocks.

2.            Doors can be chained or wired shut—absolutely no welding except for the driver’s door.

3.            Small front wheel drive cars only, large front wheel drive cars will go in non-welded class.

4.            No extra welding or wire for extra support will be allowed.

5.            No wire for extra bracing.

6.            No early Toranados.

7.            Bumper can be bolted on only and must be removable (or will not pass inspection).
